2056 has received tremendous support from our community and we believe in giving back to our community. The Winona Men’s Club has been a large financial supporter of our robotics team since the start and we are happy to have assisted them in their own fundraising efforts over the past years. Members of our team annually assist them in running a peach Sunday booth at the local Peach Festival.

We also believe in spreading our knowledge with others and have recently established what we hope will become a bi-annual robotics event. We have had the opportunity to host demonstrations of our robot in action at both the Ontario Science Center and The Canadian National Exhibition. Also, over 50 elementary school students were invited to come to Orchard Park for a day of using Lego Mindstorms and VEX robotics kits. These young students worked hand-in-hand with the members of Team 2056 to build a robot to accomplish different tasks. They learned problem solving and design skills as well as how to work under a strict timeline in a competitive atmosphere. All of the students told us that they learned a lot about robotics and had fun participating in the event. We look forward to hosting more events and teaching more people about science, technology and problem solving skills.
Team 2056 also partakes in community events such as the Stoney Creek Flag Day Parade and other events to get involved with our local community. Last year, we also got to participate in the Jantz corporate barbeque. We got to tour their facillites, and go see their robot. At the end of barbeque, we showed them our robot, and it was a mutual learning experenice for everyone
